Vincenzo Trione (Sarno, 1972) teaches Art and New Media, and History of Contemporary Art at IULM in Milan, where he also coordinates the department of Arts, Capitals and Markets. He is an art writer for Il Mattino, he collaborates with Corriere della Sera, and he is a regular contributor to Corriere della Sera's Io Donna. He is the curator of the series L'arte e le arti for Scheiwiller editions (Gruppo 24 Ore Cultura). Co-curator of the XIV edition of Quadriennale in Roma (2003), Director of the Valencia Biennial (2009), he has curated contemporary art exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He published numerous essays and articles on XX century art: Il poeta e le arti. Apollinaire e il tempo delle avanguardie (Guerini e Associati, 1999), Dentro le cose. Ardengo Soffici critico d’arte (Bollati Boringhieri, 2001), Atlanti metafisici. Giorgio de Chirico: arte, architettura, critica (Skira, 2005), I luoghi e l’anima. Mario Sironi / Constant Permeke (Federico Motta, 2005), El siglo de Giorgio de Chirico. He is also co-author of the book Monocromos. De Malevich al presente (Documenta, 2004), translated into several languages (Editions du Regard, 2004; The California University Press, 2006). He curated, together with Giuseppe Montesano, an anthology of essays by Alberto Savinio (La nascita di Venere. Scritti sull’arte, Adelphi, 2007).
