Giorgio Vasta (b. 1970 in Palermo) is the author of the novel Il tempo materiale (published by minimum fax in 2008, winner of the Premio Città di Viagrande 2010, Prix Ulysse du Premier Roman 2011), soon to be published in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the US and the UK, nominated for the Premio Strega in 2009, shortlisted for the Premio Dessì, Premio Berto and Premio Dedalus. His most recent book is Spaesamento (Laterza 2010, shortlisted for the Premio Bergamo, soon to be published in France). He is a contributor to La Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore and il manifesto, and posts on the literary blog minimaetmoralia.com. In 2010 he won the Premio Lo Straniero and the “Dal Testo allo Schermo” award at the SalinaDocFest.
