Architecture
Marco Rainò (b. 1970 in Turin) is an architect interested in experimentation through hands-on involvement, theoretical research and critical activity in the fields of architecture, graphics, and contemporary design. In 2002, with Barbara Brondi, he founded BRH+, a firm that works across the board in the field of design, based on the concept of architecture open to influences from other disciplines. Their critical contributions take the form of various projects, including the conception and programming of the annual thematic workshops IN Residence and related events, like the group exhibitions “Ten Small Atlases” (2010) and “Another Terra” (2012), the public debate series “Design that Talks!”, and the book series “Design Dialogues” published by Corraini Edizioni. His most recent curatorial projects include the group show “Over Design Over” at Rocca Paolina in Perugia (2009), “Visualising Transformation” in Turin for Artissima Design (2010), and the site-specific installation Liliana Ovalle: The Chroma Season. Marco Rainò is the co-author (with Sanford Kwinter) of Rem Koolhaas - Verso un’architettura estrema (Postmedia Books) and edited the Italian editions of What is a Designer: Things, Places, Messages by Norman Potter and The Art of City Making by Charles Landry (both for Codice Edizioni).
