Art/theory
Francesco Bernardelli (b. 1968 in Turin) has been involved since the late Nineties in organizing video festivals and programmes that explore the relationship between the visual arts and the moving image, for independent art centres such as Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and Fondazione Merz in Turin. His primary interest is in the links and mutual influences between time-based media, the visual arts, and sonic experimentation. In recent years he has published essays and texts exploring the historical relationships between performance, video art and contemporary dance, and has been invited to give lectures and seminars at art academies and exhibition centres in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, Frankfurt, Geneva, Ljubljana, London, Rotterdam, and Utrecht.
